Elon Musk just declared this after NASA’s Chief Warned “No Lunar Starship landing”!

“Starship will end up doing the whole Moon mission, Mark my words.” What made him even more furious was the news that NASA is now awarding additional contracts to Blue Origin and other companies to develop a backup lunar lander, one that could even replace Starship HLS entirely. That felt like a slap in the face, as if to say, if America loses the Moon race to China, it’ll be SpaceX’s fault.
So, what exactly just happened here?
Let’s find out in today’s episode of Alpha Tech.

A few months ago, NASA Administrator Sean Duffy visited Starbase, where he met with SpaceX COO Gwynne Shotwell. The two toured the facilities and inspected the progress of Starship HLS, the crewed lunar lander that’s absolutely critical for returning humans to the Moon under Artemis 3.
After that visit, Duffy told reporters that HLS was making great progress, and that if there were any delays, they definitely wouldn’t be coming from SpaceX. But just a few days ago, on October 20th, he completely flipped his stance.

During a live interview on Fox News, Duffy openly criticized SpaceX, saying: “Artemis 3 is when we land back on the Moon. That’s going to be a year and a half, two years out. SpaceX has the contract, SpaceX, amazing company, do remarkable things, but they are behind schedule.”
Those words pretty much sounded like an indirect admission that NASA’s original goal of landing humans on the Moon by 2027 is no longer realistic.
Duffy then added, “And so, the President wants to make sure we beat the Chinese. He wants to get there on his terms. I’m in the process of opening that contract up.”
